Shubman Gill is my favorite cricketer and my secret cricket crush

Miss India World Nandini Gupta recently shared her admiration for Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill during the ongoing IPL 2025.
When asked to describe the star batter with a hashtag, she sweetly called him her “cricket crush.”

While most celebrities tend to name legendary players, Nandini pleasantly surprised fans by picking the man of the moment, Shubman Gill.

“He’s my favorite cricketer. He’s super!” she gushed.
And she’s certainly not alone—Gill’s graceful stroke play and cool composure under pressure have made him a Gen Z icon and a certified crowd favorite.

Nandini Gupta, a 19-year-old hailing from Kota, Rajasthan, was crowned Femina Miss India World 2023 at the prestigious finale held in Imphal, Manipur. Coming from a humble background—her father a farmer and her mother a homemaker—Nandini’s inspiring rise is a powerful story of grit, perseverance, and ambition.

Currently pursuing a degree in business management at Lala Lajpat Rai College, Mumbai, she skillfully juggles academics with her growing career in modeling and a deep commitment to social causes.

Deeply influenced by philanthropist Ratan Tata and global icon Priyanka Chopra, Nandini envisions using her platform to spotlight Indian handlooms—especially Kota Doriya—and uplift women artisans from her hometown. Her journey reflects the perfect fusion of cultural pride, modern aspiration, and social responsibility, making her a true inspiration for young women across India.

Shubman Gill is one of India’s most promising young cricketers, celebrated for his graceful strokeplay and consistency across formats. Born on September 8, 1999, in Fazilka, Punjab, Gill first caught national attention as the vice-captain and top scorer of India’s victorious 2018 U-19 World Cup team, earning the title of Player of the Tournament.

He made his international debut in January 2019 in an ODI against New Zealand and quickly cemented his place in the Indian squad. Among his notable achievements is a record-breaking 208-run knock, making him the youngest Indian to score a double century in ODIs, achieved against New Zealand in January 2023.

In the IPL, Gill played for Kolkata Knight Riders from 2018 to 2021 before becoming a core member of the Gujarat Titans in 2022. His rising stature was further recognized when he was named captain of the Titans in 2024, showcasing his growing leadership prowess.

Away from the pitch, Shubman Gill is admired for his grounded personality and deep-rooted family values, often acknowledging his father’s role in shaping his career. With a strong presence on social media, he continues to inspire millions while chronicling his journey as one of modern cricket’s brightest stars.
